High-rise glass without rope access

Window banks and curtain wall systems are cleaned and rinsed with purified water to a spot-free finish. Purified water has had its dissolved minerals removed, so it dries without the spotting tap water leaves and with no detergent residue on glass or frames.

The conventional alternatives are swing stage, abseil crews or an EWP in the loading zone. Each carries mobilisation cost, lead time and a work-at-height exposure that this method does not.

Glass in a salt-air environment

Window cleaning questions

Can a drone clean high-rise windows on the Gold Coast? +

Yes. High-rise glazed elevations are cleaned with the crew on the ground, provided the site's airspace allows it. We check airspace for every site at scoping, before anything is booked.

Is drone window cleaning as good as a rope access clean? +

For salt film, dust and atmospheric soiling, purified-water cleaning gives a spot-free finish. Heavy mechanical staining, graffiti or coating removal is not suited to the method, and we will tell you so at scoping rather than mobilise to a job we cannot finish properly.

Do occupants need to do anything while the glass is cleaned? +

Only keep windows and sliding doors closed on the elevation being cleaned. Building management gets notice for each elevation in advance, and nobody is suspended outside the glass at any point.

Does wind affect cleaning on tall buildings? +

Yes. Wind is stronger at height and along the beachfront, so wind limits are set for each site before flying and checked on the day. If conditions exceed them we reschedule at no cost rather than leave an elevation half done.

Do you need airspace approval to clean a tower? +

Sometimes. Proximity to Gold Coast Airport, hospital helipads and low-level helicopter traffic along the coastline is checked for every tower at scoping, and any authorisation is arranged before works are booked.
